Meditation Enquiries

We have found the most reliable way to handle enquiries and registration is by phone. If you have a flyer kindly phone the registration number to reserve a seat in the workshop of your choice.

If you have questions, please use the form below and somebody will phone you. As our workshops are all free of charge it is preferable for us to have the option of calling a landline, but please leave a cellphone number if you have one as a second choice.

If you require a flyer, please leave your address below and we will post one out to you. Alternatively you can collect a flyer any time from The Lotus-Heart café or restaurant, Gandharva Loka, local libraries and other places throughout Christchurch.

Meditation, Running and Self-Transcendence

The traditional image of meditation may conjure up for some an image of a monk or yogi in orange robes, sitting in the Lotus position in a Himalayan cave for decades whilst chanting the most sacred syllable, “Aum…” At least, that’s what it did for me!

Why Meditate?

The fact that you are looking at a web site focused on meditation, chances are you have some interest in learning to practice it.

There is no end to the list of reasons why one might choose to practice meditation. Meditation can help you to reach any goal, become any thing, and achieve any thing. It is the Universal, all applicable, self-transforming life skill.

Does meditation help in your running?

Susan Marshall answered the following question after the 2-mile race on 28 March 2009.

Shishir In Christchurch

When I arrived at The Lotus-Heart, there was a queue of people lined up to attend the meditation workshop.  We had spent all week in preparation to his arrival putting flyers out all around the city,  titled Discovering Meditation with guest speaker Shishir Pauk from the Canadian  Sri Chinmoy Centre.  At last I got a seat and there he was, Shishir, finally in Christchurch.

About Meditation

MeditationOur health is founded upon a relationship between body, mind and spirit and the wellness of each part – the physical body itself is only one component in the overall equation of well-being. This principle of holistics recognises that a stress-free and happy mind and a blossoming spiritual life are major factors in our physical health.
