Meditation and the Soul
The way to get the utmost from meditation is to meditate according to the soul’s necessities and demands. We must not feel that just because we are sitting quietly for five or ten minutes our meditation is going well. Meditation is not that easy. It requires conscious effort. The mind has to be made calm and quiet; at the same time, it has to be dynamic and vigilant like a fortress and not allow any enemies to enter. The heart must be like a pure and blossoming flower, opening fully to the light of the soul. The soul must come to the fore and spread its inner light all around.
Meditation and Music
Meditation and music cannot be separated. Next to meditation is music. But it has to be soulful music, the music that stirs and elevates our aspiring consciousness. When we play soulful music, psychic music, then immediately we are transported to the highest realm of consciousness. When we play music soulfully, we go high, higher, highest. Each time soulful music is played, we get inspiration and delight. In the twinkling of an eye, music can elevate our consciousness.

Vegetarian Diet
The vegetarian diet plays a most important role in the spiritual life. Purity is of paramount importance for an aspirant. This purity we must establish in the physical, the vital and the mental. When we eat meat and fish, the aggressive, animal consciousness enters into us. Our nerves become agitated; they become restless and aggressive, and this can interfere with our meditation.
But the mild qualities of fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, help us to establish, in our inner life as well as in our outer life, the qualities of sweetness, softness, simplicity and purity. So, if we are vegetarians, it helps our inner being to strengthen its own existence. Inwardly, we are praying and meditating; outwardly, the food we are taking from Mother Earth is helping us too, giving us not only energy but also aspiration.

Physical Fitness
Physical fitness and spirituality must go together. It is like having two legs. With one leg I cannot walk; I need two legs to reach my destination.Physical fitness is of great importance in our life. If the body is in good condition, then we can perform all our life-activities well. So it is important to run or do physical exercises every day in order to become strong, healthy and dynamic. If we are physically fit, we will be able to keep ailments and other uninvited guests from entering into us.

Meditation Invocation
Posted June 10th, 2009 by ujjwalaAt 5:15 in the morning
My alarm begins to ring,
Although a little groggy
I feel a beckoning within.
I glance out my window,
Darkness presses on the panes,
My bed feels soft and warm
But I get up all the same.
Blurry eyed I grab my towel
Down the passage to the shower,
Then sit in front of my shrine
Adorned with candle, picture, flower.
I sit with my back up straight
And start to breathe in peace
And with my first inhalation
Anxieties release.<
Living Naturally From The Heart
Posted May 25th, 2009 by anuraktaWhen I began practicing meditation I was a trainee furniture maker. I failed to get a decent furniture making job and I found myself as a kitchen hand in a local winery. The previous year at school I enjoyed all creative subjects and no mathematical, language or science subjects. Painting, printmaking, workshop, technical drawing and music. I enjoyed washing dishes in the busy kitchen.
How to See Secret Treasures in Life
Posted May 24th, 2009 by prasastaMy name is Prasasta. I started my own personal spiritual journey around ten years ago after I learnt to meditate. I would like to share one thing that I have become increasingly aware of recently, and this awareness itself is a fruit of meditation. Lately I have become aware that there are many secret treasures in the world. It is not that they are hidden; it is just many of us, including myself can not always see them. I will write about what these treasures are and how to see them.
