Finding Spirituality
Posted June 20th, 2009 by ujjwala'Tis not the case for all,
But I know it is for me.
The dryness of life was painful
Without spirituality.
Around everything seemed transient,
So I began to seek
And to make sense of it all
With different groups I began to meet.
I was fourteen years old
When I started to meditate
And with Sri Chinmoy's philosophy
I could relate.
What had been missing in my life
Was such a simple thing
Peace, divine love, truth, light.
All qualities that were already within.
My Love of Light is My Spiritual Will

Of all Sri Chinmoy’s books, my favourite is Songs of the Soul.
The first time I read it, it mostly went right over my head. It took a while for me to get used to the style of writing, so I could feel the truths inside.
When I Meditate
Posted June 17th, 2009 by ujjwalaWhen I Meditate
When I meditate
I want to levitate
But sadly to my cushion I gravitate
Although not to say I still do not celebrate
As meditation allows for other capacities to cultivate…
Why I Meditate
Proven from ancient time from date
Negative emotions erode and eliminate
Stress and tensions crumble and degenerate
By meditating, peace one starts to emulate
How I Meditate
Vigilantly I begin to concentrate
02. Concentration on a flame
The spiritual heart is a chakra, or spiritual centre, that is located in the centre of the chest and houses our spiritual energies and propensities. Sri Chinmoy puts it this way:
01. Concentration on an object
When we are beginning to learn meditation, it is important to develop our capacity to concentrate. In his writings regarding concentration, Sri Chinmoy comments that "Concentration is the arrow. Meditation is the bow."
Spiritual Heart
In the spiritual life our treasure is the soul. It is only with the help of the soul that we can make the fastest progress in the inner life and we can contact the soul only by meditating on our heart. All paths lead to the Goal, but there is a particular road that will lead us there faster than the other roads. That road is the heart. It is faster, safer and surer than any other road.
